Michelle Power is a lifelong explorer whose art reflects a world shaped by movement, discovery, and a deep connection to place. Born in Newfoundland, she grew up surrounded by rugged coastlines, shifting light, and the quiet strength of nature — influences that continue to anchor her artistic vision.
Her creative path expanded profoundly during the years she lived in Egypt. Immersed in new cultures and sweeping desert landscapes, Michelle encountered unfamiliar textures, bold contrasts, and striking patterns of light and shadow. These early experiences awakened a broader artistic sensibility that still echoes through her work today.

“Every walk brings a new burst of colour, movement, and life.”
— Michelle Power
After years spent across Canada — including Calgary and Toronto — and abroad in Cairo, Michelle eventually found her home on Florida’s Anna Maria Island. Here, the island’s coastal calm, soft Gulf horizons, and abundant birdlife shape her daily inspiration. Morning walks along the shoreline bring her into quiet companionship with herons, sandpipers, and seabirds whose effortless movement often becomes the heart of her paintings. Birds appear throughout her work as symbols of freedom, migration, resilience, and the poetry of motion.
In her studio, Michelle transforms these encounters into expressive, luminous paintings that capture not only the beauty of her surroundings, but the sense of wonder that comes from truly seeing the world. Her art forms a visual journey — connecting Newfoundland’s rugged beginnings, Egypt’s expansive light, and the serene rhythms of Anna Maria Island.
Beyond her art, Michelle brings more than 25 years of international experience in sales and marketing, helping organizations communicate with clarity and purpose. Whether in her professional work or creative practice, she leads with energy, intuition, and a genuine love of connecting with people.
Her paintings invite viewers into her world — one that spans continents, celebrates nature, and reflects the places that shape us.
